2014 NCD School Soccer

Ten Port Moresby Secondary Schools registered for this year’s NCD Secondary School Soccer League, have just completed another exciting week of competition.

With the aim of developing and strengthening football skills, the League allows students to compete alongside their peers and build better relations, as well as team work.

The League comprises U-18 Girls and Boys League. PNG Football Association has been supporting the competition and have availed their officials to officiate the League’s matches, which exposes students to a higher level and standard of football to player development.

The competition will run throughout term 2 and into Week 2 of Term 3. Schools hosting matches are Port Moresby International, Gerehu Secondary School and Gordons Secondary.

Dominating the competition since 2008, in the U-18 Girls’ match at Gordons, Badihagwa Secondary put up a fierce challenge against Gordons Secondary on News soil. Neither team was successful in finding the net, pushing the game to extra time and later a penalty shoot-out.

Gordons kickers was shaky and predictable. Badihagwa capitalized and put in 2 goals to take the match 2-0.
