Zero Tolerance on Police Brutality

Police Minister, Jelta Wong, says they will impose a zero tolerance on police brutality. And more funding will be injected into RPNGC’s internal affairs to eradicate this unwanted syndrome which for overtime has portrayed the bad image on the police force.

Police brutality was brought to light in Parliament during Questions Time by Finschaffen MP, Renbo Paita.

Paita said in most situations, police discharge beyond their constitutional duties. He asked if there were plans to address police brutality by the current Parliament.

The Police Minister responded positively assuring the people of PNG, that zero tolerance on police brutality will be imposed.

Under his leadership, he will work closely with the police hierarchy to address this ongoing issue.

Minister Wong will report back to Parliament once the documents to impose the zero-tolerance policy is finalised.
