Waima United Church Elementary School Receive Library Books

Since the launching of Telikom Foundations Donation Box Program in August last year, Telikom Foundation Inc. continues to support children through its book donation and its Clean IT E-Library Program.

The first recipient for the Foundation’s book donation program is the Waima United Church Elementary school in Kairuku, Central Province.

With the aim to enhance learning capacity, promote and improve literacy in the country, the Foundation has recently visited the school, and presented 300 set of library books.

The set of book items presented were donated by Buk Bilong Pikinini to the Foundations ‘book donation program”. Under this program, the Foundation visits selected schools and donate library books, together with the Clean IT E-Library Program, to allow children to use internet services through the ICT enabled solutions.

At the presentation, Waima United Church Elementary School head teacher, Vaki Taeara, commended Telikom Foundation Inc. for the great initiative and the set of items.

“I am very pleased and thankful for Telikom Foundation to donate 300 books to our school. We treasure such a donation to the school. This is first of its kind for the donation of books to our school library, and we are very much thankful,” said Mr Taeara.

Mr Taeara also thanked Mr Aihi Vaki who hails from the area for his support in working together to make this a success for the school.

Mr Vaki is an ICT officer at the Gordon International School who initiated the request on behalf of the school.

Mr Taeara said the staff and the schools Board of Management are happy and very thankful this set of items will help both the teachers and the children, enhance their reading and learning capacity.

Telikom Foundation Inc. would like to commend Buk Bilong Pikinini for the continuous support in providing the library books.
