Education Minister says Institutions Must Comply with Set Regulations

Education Minister, Nick Kuman, says there has to be a stop to institutions operating in the country without registration.

He said many institutions in the country are operating without complying with regulations set by authorities.

He said institutions that are taking advantage of loopholes in the system, and who continue to operate, will be dealt with.

Minister Kuman says the buck has to stop somewhere, with institutions who are still operating without complying to set regulations.

The minister’s statement comes after recent media publications of Kumul Training Institution, enrolling students after the department’s announcement that its programs are not sanctioned by the Department of Education.

He said students who are enrolling in schools that are not recognised by the Education Board are wasting their time as their qualification will not be recognised by the Education Department nor the Department of Higher Education.
