Unitech Invests In WiFi Coverage

The Lae University of Technology will be investing a significant amount of financial resources to develop a Wi-Fi network for the whole of the University Campus.

Vice Chancellor, Albert Schram, would not say how much the university would spend but he indicated it would transform the University’s ICT infrastructure.

It doesn’t look like much now, but in twelve months, this area will have Wi Fi Coverage. The university plans to have various systems from Telikom and other satellite service providers, and for the first time, this leading technical institution will live up to its name.

Vice Chancellor Dr. Albert Schram has resumed plans before he was prevented from entering the country.

After boycotts and protests, the university, is now ready to move on. Government grants the universities have also risen in the last ten years, and the future looks very promising.

But Albert Schram has just one year and six months to achieve what his setting out to do. In his words, he wants Unitech to fly, and to be one of the best in Papua New Guinea and the Pacific.
