Two Become One – ‘Till Death Do Us Apart’

On September 28, 2017 George Badapipi Junior from Logea Island, Milne Bay Province and Rose Ampaoi from Kieta in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville said ‘yes’ to each other, and tied their knot as husband and wife, through the exchange of holy matrimonial vows.

The wedding was held at Doini Island in Milne Bay province, in the presence of family and friends. Some even came all the way from Australia to witness the exchange of vows.

Bishop of the Kwato Church of Papua New Guinea, Bishop Dagonia Walino officiated at the blessing of the holy matrimony.

He told the witnesses, that this commitment is sealed where a man and woman become one and will walk the journey together as husband and wife.

“Therefore a man and woman must become one. They must journey with God, because he alone, will nourish this lifetime commitment.

“Marriage is a committed relationship between a man and woman. It’s a lifetime commitment, and the cornerstone of family life,” he said.

Bishop Dagonia said marriage is a sign of God’s love and a lifetime journey.

And in order for them to walk the path, couples must open new levels of communication and understand themselves and each other, because there are everyday challenges and tools are available to strengthen marriages.

“It’s all about love…the love of God manifested in the fidelity of marriage,”
