The people of Tete Settlement in Port Moresby were treated to a night of praise and worship yesterday by the Renewal Lutheran Church of PNG which opened the Easter Weekend Crusade that will run till Sunday.
Guest speaker at the Crusade was the National President of the Church; Pastor Wilson Mark.
Tete settlement is one of the notorious settlements in Port Moresby but Christians have been working to bring the Gospel into this settlement and this Easter is an opportune time for them to carry out gospel outreach to the settlers.
The Renewal Lutheran Church of PNG seized this opportunity to host an Easter crusade at the settlement.
They opened it yesterday night with much joy and singing that turned out a good number of Christians and attendants.
Guest speaker to the crusade and National President of the Church, Pastor Wilson Mark, while preaching the gospel, urged people to respect this Easter season and to rest from their daily activities.
He urged the Tete community to turn up for the prayer meetings to be held throughout the weekend.
He said this meeting was a strategic one and people should use this Easter season to reflect on your lives.
He also said church politics should not deter people from attending such public crusades.
The crusade will run for the weekend with worship services held during the day.
Pastor Wilson is expected to preach great messages during the two nights of prayer and worship and has called on those keen to hear the word of God to attend.
