On Saturday, Susu Mamas Inc and its corporate partners gave presents to mothers at the Port Moresby General Hospital.
The gift giving coincided with Mother’s Day that followed the next day (Sunday 14).
Susu Mamas began 40 years ago and has been providing support to nursing mothers.
Today it has grown across several centres, including Lae and Port Moresby.
It’s headquarters are in Mt Hagen, Western Highlands Province.
The NGO provides medical assistance to the sick, assessment of nutritional levels of children under five years of age, vaccinations and antenatal care.
About 120,000 people use health facilities around the country, a jump from 40,000 in 2012.
The NGO has grown in partnership with the Australian Foreign Affairs and Trade Department, Steamships Trading Company and Puma Energy.
