Southern and Hela Students at University of Goroka Initiate Committee for Disaster Relief

The Southern Highlands and Hela students of the University of Goroka have formed a committee to fundraise for the earthquake-affected people in their area.

The group was recently presented with two loudhailers from Brian Bell in Goroka which will boost their fundraising drive.

Coordinator of the Disaster Relief Committee, Mr Stanley Nandex, said there are two activities that have been planned out already.

The first is the Public Wheelbarrow Push, tomorrow from West Goroka, Main market to Main Town and at Peace Park where people will be asked to pledge their support by cash or kind.

The second activity is the Corporate Dinner set for March 25, which will target the corporate level or other members of the working class who may not be able to contribute at the Wheelbarrow Push.
