Robbery suspects nabbed by Police

Two robbery suspects were arrested yesterday by police detectives in the National Capital District following a five month undercover operation.

According to Police, tip-off from CCTV footages supplied by victims of crime conducted surveillance on the movement of these two suspects and nabbed them near the Waigani Service Station.

The duo led several gunmen held a shop at the ATS settlement and ran away with K16,000.00 thousand kina in cash on Sunday 16 June 2019.

The same gang allegedly went to Badili, held up employees of a shop and stole K9000 in cash before escaping in a waiting car.

The two suspects were identified as Murphy Miro, 29 and Gilbert Farisa , 26 both from Malalaua in the Gulf province.

CCTV footages of these two crimes were extracted and given to detectives at the Boroko Police Station who identified two suspects in the recordings, observed their movements and eventually arrested them on October 24.

NCD/Central Commander Anthony Wagambie (Jr) commended his team of detectives for successfully identifying and arresting the suspects involved in these two crimes
