First up on the show, our Anja Geno speaks with an internationally recognized Mine Closure Expert. Mr. Hugh Jones has been actively involved in mine closure matters for 20 years, both as a regulator and a consultant.
As a senior regulator, he oversaw the development of the government guidelines on closure of mines and tailings storage facilities.
As a consultant he developed numerous costed closure plans for iron ore, gold and nickel operations in Australia and the Pacific and has undertaken risk assessments of closure plans for coal operations.
Afterwards, we take a look at a report that highlights St. Barbara’s presence and operations in PNG.
