Victims affected by natural disasters will now receive the much need support in the hour of their need.
Thanks to a six hundred thousand kina worth of Emergency Relieve Items, presented to Red Cross PNG by the Chinese Embassy, in Port Moresby today.
Milne Bay is amongst the first provinces to benefit first its relief emergency. These items include cooking utensils, stand by generators, and mosquito nets. They will be packed into containers and sent to the fourteen Red Cross Centres around the nation next week, to assist people affected by natural disasters.
The Red Cross Headquarters Office in Port Moresby also received a boost to its office equipment with computers and printers. Counsellor Liyong said, the Chinese government is happy to assist PNG in areas where it can. He said, he believes in sharing knowledge and would like to contributing to a better PNG.
Meanwhile, Red Cross PNG owes a K744,000, to over thirty creditors in both PNG and abroad. It now has a recovery package in place and has been seeking financial help from the state, and Red Cross Australia, to help repay its debts.
