Pukpuks To Train With ACT Brumbies

After several weeks of attending training camps, the PNG South Pacific Export Lager Men’s sevens coach, Fereti Verebula is banking on an upcoming Brumbies camp to strengthen the team, and prepare them in time for the Commonwealth Games in July.

The Fijian recruit has selected his final team of 12, and will be travelling to Canberra Australia next week, to attend an 8 week training program alongside ACT Brumbies specialist coaches.

Coach Verebula is assertive that this camp will be an advantage for the boys, as it gives them the opportunity to excel and improve on skills whilst training in a new environment, equipped with high skilled training facilities.

As part of their preparations, the PNG Pukpuks have been training two days a week prior to their departure next week.

With so much focus on preparing the national men’s sevens team for the Commonwealth Games, the PNGRFU has also invested in the women’s sevens teams, working to engage them in high performance training camps overseas, in preparation for upcoming tournaments throughout this year.

Although the final team welcomes fresh inclusions to the team, familiar faces, Billy Torea, Hubert Tseraha, Albert Levi, and Henry Liliket were all named in the team.

The 12 member squad consist of: Billy Torea, Henry Kalua, Stanis Susuve, Dondon Kais, Nathan Baramu, Manu Guise, Hensley Peter, Wesley Vali, Hubert Tseraha, Henry Liliket, Albert Levi, and Seki Sisah.
