The Preliminary Autopsy Report of the late Journalist, Rosalyn Evara Albaniel was handed to the Coroner’s office at Waigani today.
Chief Pathologist, Dr. Seth Fose, who conducted the autopsy stated in the report that the cause of the death is undetermined.
At the autopsy, the external examination showed there was no evidence of disease trauma, or injuries identified on the body. The rest of the external examination showed no significant findings apart from embalming.
Dr. Fose stated that the process of embalming and decomposition distorts evidence trauma, disease and injuries that limit the ability of the pathologist to identify the ante-mortem injuries and interpret findings.
The final report will be delivered in two weeks after microscopic tissue results is pending processing and analysis.
Dr Fose stressed that the preliminary cause of death is unknown and in his opinion, the contributing factor is embalming artefacts and changes.
