POMIS Cross-Country Ends Term 1

The Port Moresby International School displayed great athleticism at their Inter-house School Carnival, in Port Moresby today.

As an annual event on the International Education Agency Sports Calendar, students and teachers, were out in their respective house colours.

 

Erupting with choruses of Popular, and catchy tunes, incorporated and sung, to cheer on and support fellow students, running in respective events.

 

The students were all in their respective house colours, and filled the school terraces in Blue, Gold, Green and Red.

 

Honouring the Motuan dialect, the 4 respective house colours, represent the 4 elements of Earth, Water, Sun and Sky.

 

Tano in red, reperesenting the element of Earth, grounded their pace with runners dominating the course for the past few years, placing 2nd at the end of the day.

 

Representing the element of Water, Ranu, in Green was more serine in their approach and finished 3rd.

 

Despite finishing last, Dina, representinfg the element of the Sun, spurred their rays and tested the vocal cords of the lads from Guba throughout the day.

 

While Guba in Blue, representing the element of the sky, fought for, and reached up for the title in every race, and took out the title of this year’s Cross-Country Champs for 2014.

 

The event builds the athleticism, comradery and an outstanding display of articism by all students, and concludes term 1 of the acedamic year.
