Police re-opens investigations into killing of Chinese nationals

Police have reopened investigations into the murder of ten Chinese nationals in Lorengau after concerns were raised in parliament, over their gruesome killing.

The ten Chinese nationals were killed in a fire that completely razed down the shopping center that the deceased owned and operated in Lorengau town in.

At first, their murder case was treated as an arson case, but further police investigations revealed later that it was a homicide case.

Initial investigations came to a halt because of limited funding. However, a team of Criminal Investigation Division officers are in Manus to continue the investigations.

Manus Police Commander, Chief Inspector David Yapu, is pleased police have reopened investigations and asks locals in Manus to come forward with information on this case. The incident occurred in October 2017.
