Former Kumul Prop, Daroa Ben Moide, has plans to revive Rugby League in the Milne Bay Province.
Son of late war veteran Ben Moide, hopes for the code to gain popularity and interest from the Milne Bay Community. He was part of the PNG Rugby Football League Provincial development officers, 3 day induction course.
A total of 14 PNGRFL Provincial Development Officers attended the workshop conducted by the PNGRFL through the Team Kumul program. Most of them are not new faces in the rugby league fraternity, including three former PNG Kumuls, Philip Boge, Valerian Hackaria and Daroa Ben Moide.
Ben Moide, in the number 8 and 11 jersey, sealed them as his own signature positions, while with the Kumuls. He now heads Milne Bay Rugby League.
Closely in line, was the Autonomous Region of Bougainville Development officer Valerian Hackaria, who debuted into the PNG Kumuls in 1996, and played alongside Marcus Bai and Stanley Gene. Hackaria spoke confidently about the programs he has carried out in the Region.
The induction course was under the PNGRFL Team Kumul program, and aims to improve domestic competitions in the country. The development officers are tasked to spearhead the competitions and will be working closely with the National Development and Competition Managers Arnold Krewanty and Toksy Nema.
Development Officers were presented with IMAC Notebooks through their major sponsors and smartphones by Digicel PNG, who has the exclusive telecommunication rights to the PNG Hunters games.
