PNGDF Women’s Forum to look into Recruitment gaps

Over 30 women soldiers in the PNG Defence Force are expected to attend a Forum aimed at creating policies that will accommodate ways forward in addressing issues women soldiers face in their line of duties.

At the moment, the PNG Defence Force does not have polices that address what is expected of women soldiers and the appropriate approaches that should be taken when dealing with women soldiers.

The first of its kind, Annual PNGDF Women’s Forum commences on Tuesday 17th October in Port Moresby and will run for three days.

It is expected to conclude with ideas that can be developed into Polices that will govern the roles and responsibilities of women soldiers.

It will also extend to disciplinary actions against women soldiers who break the Military Code of Conducts.
