City Pharmacy PNG Palais were true to their form despite finishing 11th at the Hong Kong Sevens tournament.
Head Coach Elenoa Kunatuba was pleased with the performance of the six debutants.
They displayed promising signs for the future of women’s rugby union in PNG when they took on Singapore.
Kunatuba said the tournament was an eye opener for the team and a lot of positives were drawn.
“We made a few wrong options, scored some tries and a big improvement on our defensive lines. We taped the games and will be going through and identify our weaknesses and work towards improving it.”
“We copied 4 yellow cards, 3 for high tackles and one for basically rolling the ball away. We can’t afford to do that and we hope to work closely with the Referees Unit to be restricted on high tackles.”
The girls jetted into the country on Thursday.
