In recent years, the blame has been leveled at parents for the poor discipline of their children.
Morobe province has some of the leading institutions in the country, such as the polytechnic institute, the University of Technology, and the Balob Teachers College.
But school fights have tainted the image of schools, making it difficult for the students to be selected to continue their tertiary education.
“Who would be the right people who will address the problem”, a parent said.
Two weeks ago, the Morobe governor suspended the Morobe Provincial Education Program advisor, and an investigation carried out on grounds of maladministration.
Also, the Provincial Education Chairman, meanwhile admitted to the lack of attention given to this issue from the provincial level.
“The provincial education board hasn't done anything outstanding to curb the problem”, Mr. Gena said.
And much of it has been leveled at the lack of attentive actions taken to address the issue.
While much of the problems relating to school fights remain unattended to, the only people responding to the issue are parents.
They worry about the safety of their children. and they worry about their children missing out on being selected for study at tertiary institutions.
