By Staycey Yalo, EMTV News, Port Moresby

Paradise Food & Beverages Limited has presented a two-year scholarship for its Queen Emma Chocolate Brand ambassador, Miss Niawali Twain.

Miss Twain, who was crowned Miss Pacific Islands PNG on Saturday, said she owes her success to everyone who has worked hard to achieve the title.

The 23-year-old from Manus and New Ireland has been given an opportunity to further her studies in the field of Medicine.

Miss Twain, who had just graduated from UPNG with a diploma in Medical laboratory Science, was presented with a two year scholarship to obtain her degree, as a congratulatory gift from her major sponsor, Paradise Food & Beverages Limited.

Chair for MPIP PNG Committee, Molly O’Rourke, said the pageant looks at empowering young women through education, and the scholarship is a natural fit.

Miss Twain said it was the first time a company has believed in her by sponsoring her to the pageant and with this scholarship, she will leave to represent PNG in the Miss Pacific Islands Pageant with more confidence, than when she started.

She said the scholarship has boosted her confidence, and she will leave for Fiji on the 29th of this month to contest the Miss Pacific Island Pageant in December.
