Papua New Guinea Rugby Football League organised a Kumuls tour for the media yesterday. The tour was led by the team’s coaching staff.
Local journalists and photographers, escorted by PNGRFL Chairman Sandis Tsaka, had the privilege of touring the Kumuls Headquarters for the World Cup.
The team is based at the Gateway Hotel. The tour was conducted by Stanley Tepend and John Wilshere, both former Kumul players and part of the Kumuls Coaching Staff.
The tour started at the reception, where names and pictures of former and current Kumuls were displayed. We had the opportunity to visit the head coach, Michael Marum’s office.
The Tour then went to the Doctor and Physiotherapist’s room.
They also have reserved a room for food preparation.
Their Conference room is where dinner, team meetings and discussions are held.
A white board has been placed in the room where their daily timetable is written.
We visited the Kumuls Gym where players had returned into camp and straight into their afternoon workout.
The team started training today,in preparation for their first match against Wales next week Saturday at the National Football Stadium.
