PNG Ambassador Presents Credentials to the Hellenic Republic

Papua New Guinea and Greece (Hellenic Republic) have yet to fully exploit the respective opportunities they have through cultural and business cooperation.

Papua New Guinea’ s Ambassador to the European Union and Greece, His Excellency Mr. Joshua R. Kalinoe said this when he met the Chief of Protocol, HE Ambassador Dionyssios Kyvetos, before presenting his letters of Credentials to the President of the Hellenic Republic in Athens recently.

Greece has some of the best tourist destinations in Western Europe and could share the experience it has in developing its tourism industry with PNG.

Ambassador Kalinoe was received by the President of the Hellenic Republic, HE Mr. Prokopios Pavlopoulos at the Presidential Palace, Athens, on 11 December 2018, formerly accepting him as Papua New Guinea’s Ambassador to Greece. Thirteen other non-resident Ambassadors also presented their credentials.

When congratulating the Ambassadors, President Pavlopoulos reminded them of countries working together to address challenges facing the world today through maintaining democratic principles. He said we live in difficult times and countries of the world should work together to improve on human dignity and prosperity of all peoples.

After the formalities, Ambassador Kalinoe met with senior foreign service officers and exchanged views on facilitating cultural and business ties between the two countries.
