Landowners Unhappy

Papa Land Owners in the Kairiku–Hiri district have expressed disappointments on the governments’ empty promises.

These promises include proper road linking Papa and Lealea to Borea and Porepada, and better health services.

They told EMTV that they will be protesting to the plant site if the government fails to respond to their list of demands within seven days.

Papa, Lealea, Borea and Porebada in Central are the four impacted villages, in the LNG Plant Site.

The list of demands from Papa Landowners included the sealing of road from Gate three of the Plant Site right down to Lealea, proper water and sanitation and a better clinic.

They went on to say, they want the government to communicate with them so they are aware of where they stand in the Umbrella Benefits Sharing Agreement or UBSA.

Meanwhile the Hela Spirit which was supposed to have left the country with the first shipment of the LNG Gas is still anchored at the plant site harbour at Papa.
