Lae’s Buimo Jail Commander, Superintendent Felix Namane, is appealing to the Morobe Provincial Government to assist Buimo with its overcrowding problems.
Namane says, as of today there are 865 detainees including remandees who are being accommodated in the prison.
He believes the current number of prisoners is expected to increase if nothing immediate is done to minimise this.
