Communities in the OK Tedi Mine area, Western Province can now enjoy improved air services.
This comes as OK Tedi Mining recently received the first of two new twin otter aircraft.
The new aircrafts are series 400 and are the first of their kind in the country.
OK Tedi Development Foundation Chairman Nigel Parker says it will improve service delivery in the area.
He says frequent flights to North Fly airstrips opens income earning opportunities for the locals.
The aircrafts were purchased from the communities' investment fund that is part of the K1.1 billion compensation package.
