Gore Accounting, Total Waste Management and Pacific Industries have all come on board to support the Nova Rugby Football Union Club, in their development programs and their CRU 2014 campaign.
Formed in 2011, Nova Rugby Football Union Club is one of the clubs that produce elite footballers for the Pukpuks and Palais.
With 6 players in the Men’s premier division last year completing year 12, the club has initiated programs such as NEDS, Nova Elite Development Squad, to equip and mould their players to not only play at their peak best in the Capital Rugby Union competition, but prepare them for Provincial and National representation.
The NEDS program kicked off in October last year, with 30 players successfully completing the program. With limitation of resources, the club has managed to incorporate a strength and conditioning, skills and fitness regime for their players.
The program hopes to inspire and motivate players to excel both on and off the field.
The Nova Kids Program which was rolled out at Lalaura Village as part of the NEDS program, is aimed at teaching school aged children the basic skills of passing and catching.
The new Nova outfit took on 2013 premiers, Harlequins, in a physical encounter at the Monier Rugby Park. With the absence of Mark Pilon, Chris Kakah and Desmond Korpok, the Harlies muscled out Nova to secure a 21-17 win.
