New Ireland Provincial Administrator, Monovi Amani, presented a cheque of K150 000 to OLSH International School in Kavieng yesterday.
This commitment was announced two years ago, by the Provincial Executive Council, in appreciation of the continuous quality education and tangible results in academic and administration.
Governor Sir Julius Chan thanked the Board of Management and Principal for OLSH, for their continued contribution to education in New Ireland and the Christian influence on future generations.
“My Government responds with faith, passing the baton to the people who are capable of meeting the challenges of self-reliance and autonomy as stated in the Malagan Declaration Forward, and continue to fulfill our promises in delivering to the people, added Governor Chan.
OLSH Board Chairman Douglas Tsang received the cheque on behalf of students and staff. Mr Tsang thanked the New Ireland Governor for his foresight in creating innovative policies that have benefited the people of New Ireland, “OLSH achievements in both academic and infrastructure are milestones of the continued support of the Provincial Government.”
