New Generation Party Holds National Convention

New Generation Party (NGP) will be going into election for the 3rd time around. With the first national convention held at the home district of their party leader and member for Goroka, Bire Kimisopa.

The convention began with their elections executives announced their nominees and their policies and statements that the party will be releasing.

Party Leader, Bire Kimisopa, told the party nominees that the party for the next generation and that the nominees must think of their children and what they would want for their children.

70 nominees were announced to run under NGP.

The Party will be releasing 14 statements on their stand on different issues affecting the Country.

While 1 statement will be dedicated to the father of the nation, Grand Chief Sir Michael Somare, to thank and farewell him as he leaves the political arena.

The first time the party ran in 2007, with their party leader Bart Philemon they won 10 seats, in 2012 they won 3 seats, but unfortunately today only one candidate and now the party Leader, Member for Goroka Bire Kimisopa remains.
