Youth and people around Boroko today cleaned up around the area as part of the NCDC Yumi Klinim Mosbi initiative.
About 50 people comprising of mothers and fathers, and a group of young people took part in the Yumi Klinim Mosbi Campaign that was launched last week. The clean up today will be an ongoing activity with the aim of making Boroko a clean and safe suburb for the public.
Boroko will be used as a piloted case in the campaign before moving on to other suburbs across the city. Boroko has a ‘no selling and chewing of Betel nut’ ban in place with newly installed rubbish bins. The work by these youth will extend to providing security for the public to move freely to and from the bus stops and the shops.
The cleaning started as early as 6am this morning from the Boroko Police Station, down to Garden City; around the bus stop, market and to the main craft market and Stop and Shop area.
