The National Disaster Centre has responded to comments made by MP for Vanimo Green regarding NDC’s relief response to the floods that resulted in the collapse of Dali Bridge and devastation along Green River, in Sandaun Province as flooding continues.
Acting Director of NDC, Dr Bill Hamblin, says they are working to mobilise resources to assist the communities affected by the disaster.
PNGDF Civil Military Liaison Officer, Captain Kelvin Laki, who is attached with NDC office says their relief exercise is still in the preparatory stage to establish crisis coordinators and gather information before they move in to the disaster affected areas.
