Work has begun for the Banz-to-Karap road for the Jimmy Electorate in Jiwaka Province.
Jimmy MP, Wake Goi and Jiwaka Governor, Dr. William Tongamp pledged to work in partnership to deliver service to its people.
On Monday, Tongap gave an excavator to the people of Jimmy to show his commitment.
It was less than five days after being sworn in for the second term as Governor for Jiwaka, Dr William Tongamp, and Member for Jimmy, Wake Goi and they are determined to get to work.
Tongamp, under the Provincial Support Improvement Program fund, gave an excavator to Jimmy for roadworks there.
Tongamp urged the public servants at the districts and the Provincial headquarters to commit their time and effort to build the Province.
He has strong confidence in the three Jiwaka MPs and the public servants to work as a team. Jimmy MP, Wake Goi, has transported fuel drums up to Jiwaka from Goroka for the roadwork.
Work will start with the rebuilding of bridges along the Banz to Karap and the roads in Jimmy then to the sealing of roads.
Goi also appealed to Jiwaka Provincial Government and the Correctional Service to have a rural lockup in Jimmy.
Tongap said his second term in Parliament and in running the new Jiwaka Province will see the three MPs of Jiwaka work together for the good of the people.
His appeal to the people of Jiwaka is to respect the work of the government.
