Media Workshop A Success

The annual PNG Resource Sector Media Workshop held in Madang recently, was proven successful by the PNG Chamber of Mines and Petroleum.

Organized and hosted by the Chamber, the workshop gathered the main stream media, major players in the resource sector and its employees, to meet and acquaint themselves with the media industry.

 

The workshop also saw major resource players including PNG LNG Project represented by Managing Director of ExxonMobil PNG Ltd, Peter Graham, representatives from Yandera Project, Hidden Valley and Ramu NiCo attended.

 

Representatives from the mining and gas industries presented their project update, approaches taken in protecting environment, their community initiatives and business opportunities to the landowners and other issues including stakeholder commitments under their respective project commitments.

 

Part of the workshop saw journalists visiting the Basamuk Refinery to give insights of Ramu NiCo Project to the working journalists and industry officials. The workshop was attended by representatives from the mine and gas sector, and journalists from print, electronic, radio and television organizations.
