Man Murdered in Kokopo

By Edwin Fidelis – EMTV News, Kokopo

A man in his 30’s was brutally murdered last night at Butuwin, a suburb on the outskirts of Kokopo town, East New Britain Province.
A picture provided by an eye witness showed the man laying face down with his hands tied to his back and a bullet hole in his head.
Witnesses stated that the deceased, a taxi driver, was heading home at around 7pm last night in his cab when he was rounded up by a group of men. He was taken out of the car, had his hands tied to the back and then shot in the head.
People gathered at the scene and found the deceased a few minutes later after hearing the gunshot.
East New Britain police Senior Inspector, Joseph Tabali, says an investigation is yet to commence into the killing.
PPC Tabali commented that it is too early to say if it is a robbery or a planned execution.
