George Yamak, 26, is the brave, and only athlete from the Western Province at the 6th BSP PNG Games.
He traveled to the games to defend his 1500m title for which he won gold for, at the 2012 PNG Games in Kokopo. He successfully achieved his goal today. Yamak finished at 4.07 seconds to win gold.
A crowd favorite, George Yamak received vocal support from all corners of our beautiful country, Papua New Guinea, as he competed in his 1500m run.
A true sports ambassador for the Western province, and PNG, Yamak’s story will be remembered for years to come; and has set a milestone, to be written down in the pages of the games history.
