The Poreporena Laurabada electorate of NCD saw a 4 day tournament of volleyball festival in Hanua bada, on the outskirts of the Port Moresby.
The Laurabada volleyball was organized by locals to keep youths busy and away from activities such as alcohol abuse and drugs.
The tournament saw 16 teams from the village, who were permitted to recruit two outside participants for the purpose of building competitiveness and rivalry amongst each other during the games.
Outside participants include PNG National reps in the likes of Junior Harold Gima, Gia Kapa and George David among others who were a bonus to the 4 days of excitement.
With the round robin format…teams with two wins went through to the qualifiers with Wanpis Vanama and Broggies taking the Grand Final showdown.
The grand final was played yesterday with team Wanpis Vanama beating team Broggies 3 sets to nil, taking home the prize money of K1,000.
