Lands Minister and Moresby South MP Give Dinghies to Coastal Communities Within His Electorate

By Lillian Sopera Keneqa – EMTV News, Port Moresby

The coastal communities of Moresby South today received a boost to their transportation needs with eight brand new dinghies. Lands Minister and Moresby South MP, Justin Tkatchenko, said over the next few months he will be distributing more dinghies, as these are just the first of 24.

Among the eight, one was given to Daugo Primary School located on Fishermen Island, which has been the school’s biggest need for transportation.

Local Member and Lands Minister, Justin Tkatchenko, said this donation has been made possible through his electorate’s DSIP funding and knows that it will meet their greatest need of transportation. Daugo Primary School was one of the recipients of this presentation.

Senior Teacher, Erelly Paschal Wakoi, mentioned that the dinghy will uplift the standard of education in the Island community.

Minister Tkatchenko said, “We must understand Moresby South is a coastal electorate as well. We have settlements, suburbs, the CBD, we have urban areas and we also have Motu Koitabu and coastal areas as well in our Moresby South electorate.”
