Kramer: Parliament Damage Report is a Scam with Inflated Figures

By Jack Lapauve Jnr – EMTV News, Port Moresby

Madang MP, Bryan Kramer, has described the damage assessment report by Parliament as a scam. Kramer told EMTV News that his own research has conclusively seen inflation of service fees billed to the Parliament Services.

The Madang MP says the Speaker, Clerk and those involved in putting the report together are answerable for the 8.5 million claim stated in the report. The report was for the damages caused by frustrated discipline forces over outstanding allowances during APEC engagement in November 2018.

According to Kramer, a company known as Port Moresby Lift Services is operating within Parliament and is not paying any form of rental. But this private firm continuously sends bills to the Parliament services for its unknown services provided within the corridors of the House. Following the presentation of the damages assessment report by a committee. Damage cost settles in at K8.5million. But two sectors in the report make up a huge chunk of the total bill: K5.5 million for elevator damage and K2.26 million for the electronic locks.

For the Opposition stronghold, the Madang MP is not settled with the assessment damage report and is knocking every day at the Speakers office for a glance at the financial records of the House, to which there has not been any response.

The Madang PM is launching another stunt against corruption in the country. His statement has strong backing with calls to the Speakers Office and those involved in compiling the report to come publicly and verify the bills.

The Speaker and Parliament Clerk’s office are aware of Kramer’s statement; they, however, are yet to respond.
