The people of Komo-Magarima are being empowered by their Local Level Government through service delivery.
The Hela district is building capacity within the Local Level Governments to bring peace to tribal conflicts.
Local MP, Francis Potape, says it’s a move to get the people away from continuous fighting and compensation.
Capacity building in Local Level Governments has meant service delivery to a population of over forty thousand people.
The new Rural Hospital was built to cater for over fifty thousand people and is part of capacity building, as well as the upgrading of the Magarima High School.
A fleet of twenty-two vehicles was funded by district funds, presented at Magarima Station.
Komo-Magarima MP, Francis Potape, believes empowering people through capacity building in the district will help change the peoples’ mindset.
“We are trying to change the mindset of people through music and sports,” he says.
Potape is also using music to change the mindset of the people to come away from tribal fighting and compensation.
The push for a change of mindset comes after fighting in these valleys, has been a hindrance to the development of Komo.
