At a conference today, sitting Member for Kairuku Hiri, Peter Namea Isoaimo, gave a brief highlight of the proposed plans on establishing and creating economic avenues along the Hiritano Highway.
Minister Isoaimo said creating economic avenues will engage locals in business activities and employment opportunities to sustain their living.
Giving the one stop mini shop at Agevairu as an example, Minister Isoaimo said establishing more of this kind of mini businesses along the Highway is important and will bring economic benefits to the people.
He said at the moment, the only one stop mini shop providing shopping services to the people of Kairuku and the travelling public is Agevairu, commonly known as ‘Ages’.
Isoaimo said the plans to set up such businesses along the Highway will create employment opportunities for the locals, especially those with no formal education, while provide service to the travelling public.
He said this opportunity will promote and drive the local economy and ensure the people are given equal distribution of the benefits.
Now with election fever on again, Minister Isoaimo is urging the people of Kairuku to be wise, informative and vote wisely as their decision in electing the member for Kairuku will determine their future.
Isoaimo is running this election with other 26 candidates.
