Inclusiveness on Day of Persons with Disabilities

The public and private sector have been challenged to mainstream the disability issue into their programs using the inclusive approach.

This was the highlighted today, during the commemoration of the International Day of Persons With Disabilities in Port Moresby.

With the disability draft bill in place, this will be used as a legal instrument to break many barriers to make rights real.

This year’s theme is ‘Transforming Towards Sustainable and Resilient Society For All’, calls for the public and private sector including individuals to change the environment setting to cater for a society for all.

A draft bill on disability is anticipated to break many barriers in the country to be more community-based rehabilitation.

But the United Nation’s says persons with disabilities must have access to use their ability to survive and live with dignity.
