Institute of Business Studies University (IBSU) Vice-Chancellor, Edward Silva, said the institution is registered as a University as Gazetted by NEC.
Silva’s comments come after Department of Higher Education Research Science & Technology told EMTV that they do not recognise IBSU as a Higher Learning Institution.
Silva said the Institute of Business Studies and IBSU has been open to audits by Southern Cross University and DHERST can also organise and external audit if they feel they need to.
According to Chief Executive Officer and Vice Chancellor of IBSU, the institute is registered and recognised as a higher learning institution.
Silva said IBS is willing to go for an external audit to be recognised by DHERST.
He said the letter sent to them yesterday by the DHERST Secretary has been noted and they will respond accordingly.
However, Silva assured parents and students that IBS has followed the right procedures to be recognised as a university by the then Minister Francis Marus.
