Gulf Isou Coach Hopeful for Finals

By Elijah Lavett – EMTV Sports, Port Moresby

Gulf Isou Coach, Norris Selu, is hoping to take his team to the finals this season. Selu joined the team in their 9th week of pre-season and has been  with the team ever since.

Norris Selu hopes to take the Gulf Isou to their first ever finals playoff this year. He joined the team with the drive to develop the sport and players in the Gulf Province.

This is the second year Isou have been in the competition. They have been running Rugby League programs in the province where some players have been selected from.

Selu has commended the Isou style of attack, saying they have the ability to score points and have flair in attacking, but will need to work on their defence.

Because this is their second year in the competition, they have struggled to sign a few SP Hunters players to join their side. Many of these players have joined other notable clubs in the competition.

Gulf Isou will play their first match next Sunday against last year runners up, the Enga Mioks here in Port Moresby.
