Four Suspects Arrested Over DWU Student’s Death

Four suspects have been apprehended by police in Madang, over the killing of third year DWU student, Nigel Laki.

In a statement by the President of the University Fr Jan Czuba, he says the Administration of the University, with the DWU Student Representative Council, are working closely with the Police and the Madang Community, to establish necessary evidence leading to the cause of the death.

 

A haus krai was held over the weekend through prayers and oneness in spirit to express condolences to the family, and pay respects to the Late Nigel.

 

The university also refuted claims of boycotting of classes.

Meanwhile Heads of Institutions namely DWU, PNG Maritime College, Madang Technical, Tusbab Secondary and Lutheran School of Nursing, will meet with stakeholders tomorrow, to discuss law and order issues in light of the killing.

 

The meeting will be chaired by retired Chief Justice Sir Arnold Amet.

 

Madang Governor, Jim Kas, has confirmed to attend the meeting.
