Force Support Battalion, or FSB is an integral part of the Papua New Guinea Defence Force (PNGDF).
The battalion staged weeklong celebrations to observe its sixth anniversary, which culminated in a family fun day on Friday last week to mark the end of the anniversary.
The Force Support Battalion is made up of six companies; headquarters, signals, workshop, transport and supply. Like other elements of the PNGDF, it has supported the function of the Papua New Guinea Defence Force.
However, it has carried out its mandated duties with limited resources. Commanding Officer of the Force Support Battalion, Francis Kari said this setback has not hindered their progress.
He encouraged his men to diligently perform their duties to meet the expectations of the government. With major changes expected within the force, Kari is optimistic that the Force Support Battalion will get the recognition it deserves.
He also appealed to his men to maintain high discipline, which has been lacking within the force.
