Foetus Found in Gerehu Sewerage

At around 10 am yesterday a blocked sewerage at Gerehu’s Stage 4 was reported to Eda Ranu’s Sewerage Department.

After resolving the blocked sewerage, staff flushed out water and to their surprise an unborn foetus surfaced.

Eda Ranu staff told EMTV after working on the blocked sewerage, the foetus surfaced. Police say an investigation will be done in the neighbourhood. Eda Ranu staff told EMTV News, this is not the first case in the city.

The discovery of the foetus shocked residents as they rush to the scene. Staff from Eda Ranu believes the foetus was carefully flushed into the sewerage system thus causing the blockage.

Stage 4 resident Gertrude Kiandu says those responsible must be ashamed of the act done. She says many teenagers and adults do not consider family planning or sex education to avoid incidents of abortion or teenage pregnancy.

Police say this is one of the many reported cases however many remain unreported or are not discovered.
