Flights into Vanimo, Boram Cancelled

Flights into Wewak and Vanimo have been cancelled until further notice. This comes after the news of Kadovor Volcano in East Sepik province erupting last Friday.

Reports of increase in activity as irked Airline operators, Air Niugini and PNG Air to cancel their connection flights into the East and West Sepiks.

EMTV Online confirmed that Air Niugini flights PX 946 (Madang-Vanimo) at 8:55am and PX 126 (POM-Wewak) scheduled for take off at 3:10pm were cancelled today. While PNG Air cancelled connection flights (CG8600,CG8572) from Port Moresby via Wewak to Vanimo.

Customers told EMTV Online that they will ask the airlines to reschedule their flights and accommodation.

“ It’s starting to become obvious that the volcanic eruption is starting to get worse,” said a flyer.
