The five-men charged for the murder of Joel Kepaniu on 16th February 2019 in Manus have been committed to stand trial at the National Court.

Last Friday, the Lorengau Committal Court found sufficient evidence and committed all five accused from Nigoherm LLG to stand trial.

The youngest, is 19-year-old Eddie Devlyin from Amik Island, while the oldest, is 40-year-old Patrick Lowih, from Pateku Island.

The charges stem from an assault in February where it is alleged that Kepaniu died from injuries sustained in the attack. The five accused are out on bail and their trial date is yet to be fixed.
