First Warden hearing for Porgera Gold Mine Landowners after 30 years

By Vasinatta Yama – EMTV News, Mt Hagen

The Mineral Resource Authority yesterday facilitated the Warden hearing for Porgera Gold Mine Landowners in Enga Province.

This is to give opportunity to landowners under the Special Mining Lease and Lease for Mining Purposes to air their concerns before the Porgera Joint Venture SML license expires in August this year.

The hearing yesterday was crucial for the landowners as this was the first time after 30 years for them to have a say.
