Family left homeless after demolition

 

A family of five is left homeless after part of their house was demolished this morning.

Ano Koivi from the Gulf province, a morgue attendant for over 20 years with the Port Moresby General Hospital says he was asked to vacate his home after being terminated from the hospital, but claims he was terminated without formal notice.

He says he took the matter to the Public Service Commission then to court, aided by a lawyer from the public solicitor’s officer. He added that his submission was still in court when the allegedly demolition took place.

Koivi described the incident this morning saying he and his family were still asleep when Pom-Gen management arrived accompanied by Black Swan Security.Prior to working in the morgue, Koivi was casually employed as a General Hygiene waste cleaner.
